Development Journal toward 2.0 - Part 2


Here is another update for Stats & Skills plugin!

First Part - Database (Done)

Nothing new here, this part was already done last time, jsut integrated with the new parameters for the updates but nothing major


Second Part - Stat & Skills main menu (Done)

The confirmation window was the last thing that was missing and it's here!

It's an optional window that ask the player to accept or decline the changes he done before exiting the Stats & Skills menu.

This led me to discover a silent bug, as I declined the changes the game would load the previous saved state but... that contained the declined changes!

Sometimes I still get caught off guard from JavaScript reference system..

Luckily this was a quick fix and now the load and save mechanics work as intended!


Third Part - Reload the old Plugin Commands (70% Done)

For the moment there are no changes here, I focused on the next step of the development. Related commands will follow soon


Fourth Part - Buff/Debuff mechanics, Class Parameters from Stats/Skill Mechanics + new mechanics (Done)

This has been the big work I done in this couple of days, I re-implemented the Buff and Debuff mechanics but this time I made it much much cleaner from a coding point of view and I made sure that the RMMZ engine accept the changes gracefully.

The same goes for the Custom Class that get their parameters from the Stats & Skills, now the code is incredibly more flexible and cleaner, the RMMZ engine accepts the new parameters with ease and they are recalculated every time there is a stat or skill change

Weapon and Armor buff returns without any major change on the dev part

Little bonus: Now in the RMMZ battle action attack formula you can add any dice you want!


Fifth Part - Skill check with and without dice rolls (0% Done)

This is the big tackle for next devlog!


Sixth Part - Polishing the code  (0% Done)

While coding I note down some changes to make it go faster or make it more stable, plus, some little features I come up with but I've already closed that "part" of development. In this part I'll read back all this notes and do all the mini-tasks I left behind (such as showing the plugin buff-debuff icon when in combat or changing RMMZ standard initiative with a Stats & Skills formula)
