Development Journal toward 2.0 - Part 3


I've not disappeared!

I'm deep into the creation of the Skill Check functionality! I wanted to do it as flexible as possible so it took quite some time to set it up properly.

What you see in the video is just a mini test but it'll grow even better!

So let's see what this feature will offer:

  • Presets: Both Skill Checks and Dices can be preset in the database so you don't have to type everything over and over again
  • Actor Choice: You can either lock or unlock the possibility to change the Actor taking the check
  • Dice Phase: You can decide the dices used and it can be conditional or linked to variables and skills
  • Stats Skills Phase: Add bonus or malus linked to Stats/Skills/RMMZ parameters, they can work as full numbers, D&D style bonus or custom bonuses
  • Various Phase: Add whatever else bonus or malus you want based on switches/variables/etc...
  • Graphic options: Show how to display the title (or don't display it), decide how you want to show the difficulty (or don't show it) and finish everything up with auto-translating text
  • Optional player choices: Decide if you want to allow the player to Boost his check using your criteria or if they can walk out from it
  • Result storing: The plugin will return who took the check, how did it go, the result taken, if the player boosted or quitted on the switches / variables of your choice
  • Spinning dice: This is yet to develop but dices with a linked graphic will show the dice spinning while doing the check


There is still quite some work to do, but it's progressing well!
